Eligible projects must address at least one program Guidance Criterion, including landslide hazard mapping and assessment, planning and coordination, education and outreach, or Alaska‑specific landslide hazards.

- City or township governments
- Special district governments
- Federally recognized Native American Tribal governments
- Universities may apply on behalf of eligible state geological surveys or state offices
