Funding is available for both fire prevention activities (e.g., community risk reduction, wildfire risk reduction, public education) and research and development projects focused on improving firefighter health and safety outcomes.
Eligibility:
- Fire departments (career, volunteer, and combination)
- State, local, and Tribal governments
- Nonprofit organizations with expertise in fire prevention and safety
- Academic and research institutions (primarily for R&D activities)

Federal agencies, for profit entities, and individuals are not eligible.
