- Purpose of Funding: This program supports marine education, workforce development, and training in Alaska to strengthen the sustainability and competitiveness of Alaska’s marine and seafood economy. Funded projects may focus on marine science and technology, fisheries and seafood‑related training, outreach and consumer education, integration of traditional knowledge into fisheries management, and partnership development. Projects must improve education and training on marine resource issues and prepare Alaska coastal community residents for employment in marine‑related professions.

- Nonprofit organizations
- Federal agencies and Federal employees are not eligible. Projects must be conducted in Alaska, and only one application per applicant per fiscal year may be submitted.
